Amana Manori is deeply committed to philanthropy and targeted charitable activities. While donating to many causes, Amana’s personal philanthropic efforts have a special focus on the underprivileged and the environment. Amana was born in Denmark where her parents met after her mother was forced to flee from Uganda due to political tyranny. Her family immigrated Canada in the 1970’s and life was further complicated by a number of family and financial issues. Amana left home at the age of fifteen and was the first person in her family to gain a post-secondary education in her family. This journey has fuelled her commitment to provide access, empowerment and encouragement to others in need.

Throughout her career Amana has been involved with fundraising and outreach for women’s health, prevention of women/children abuse, provision of basic necessities for families, and other anti-poverty initiatives. Amana has committed significant resources to empowering vulnerable women in the community and at large. She has participated in a multitude of projects and mandates to support women’s education, provide for their families, and help strengthen the institutions they rely upon. Amana is committed to inspiring people to care about the Arctic and global heating.

Highness supports The Neighbourhood Group Community Services (TNG), an impactful community-based social service agency serving the needs of the most vulnerable people in the city of Toronto. TNG is the result of the merging of three strong neighbourhood organizations: St. Stephen’s Community House (SSCH), Central Neighbourhood House and Neighbourhood Link. Annually, TNG helps more than 50,000 people tackle the most pressing life challenges, such as hunger, homelessness, unemployment, isolation, conflict, violence, and youth alienation and integration as new immigrants. The vital services that TNG provides create opportunities to improve the lives of people and the communities in which they live.

Amana Manori serves on the Board of Directors of SSCH and serves on the Foundation Board for TNG. As an immigrant child herself living in challenging financial circumstances, Amana grew up with the support and assistance of local social service organizations. TNG is close to her heart as Amana recognizes the valuable work TNG does as an anti-poverty organization. Amana knows first-hand that supporting vulnerable members of society can alter the trajectory of their lives.

TNG is a United Way Anchor organization and a recognized member of CARF Canada.

Finding Our Power Together logo

Finding Our Power Together (FOPT) is an Indigenous-led non-profit organization supporting Indigenous youth to access support and relationships that enable them to thrive. The organization offers a variety of programs that foster community, increase capacity, and promote wholistic well-being. FOPT works as an interdisciplinary team of social workers, child and youth care workers, mental health providers, educators, traditional practitioners, and Indigenous and allied individuals to develop and facilitate mental health and educational programming to foster positive self-identity and leadership capacities.

FOPT builds connections between Indigenous communities in order to share a message of hope and solidarity, particularly to save their young people from preventable death. The mission is to end Indigenous youth suicide by providing community crisis support, cultural psychoeducational programming, one-on-one mentorship, healing ceremonies, cultural healing camps, drop-in youth programs, research and resource development, and community training and support. Highness Global Inc. is working with the organization to develop training, mentorship and professionalism opportunities for emerging artists.
